For those in need of scheduling, I believe we have replaced Control-M and Jams before from my understanding.

If you're in need of job scheduling software and are open to commercial solutions, HelpSystems has a couple of core product offerings worth reviewing.

Robot - For scheduling where IBM i is the core operating control environment.

Skybot - Where you have a multi-platform system (Windows, Unix, Linux) as the core, but also want to run jobs on IBM i via a runtime agent.

On the subject of Job Automation anyone here used JAMS?

I know it is Windows based but the claim is that it can interface and
schedule/run jobs on many different platforms.

Any thoughts?

I've looked into it (and some similar products) but haven't used it.

The use case for this and similar products IMO is for Cross Platform
scheduling where you want to co-ordinate tasks across multiple
platforms/servers/OS's.

If you don't need to do that - i.e. everything runs on the i - then you
will wind up with an over engineered and very expensive job management
console.
