There are definitely plenty of things about the i that won't be
handled out of the box by products written for other platforms (open
source or not). But a lot of the concepts are there. In many cases, it
would just be a matter of configuring the open-source tools to do the
appropriate thing to the appropriate i object types.
One thing that I do think would be troublesome is authorities. The i
has much finer-grained and more complex permissions than the
mainstream platforms.
