David:
I understand how you can extract PCML from compiled ILE programs /
service programs at run-time, and the Java application can access these
PCML files in the IFS.
But, what happens when there was a new parameter added to a program, or
a change to the type, length etc., of an existing parameter?
Someone will need to change any Java code that CALLs this program,
e.g., to add a new variable and pass that as the new parameter, yes?
Just having the latest "PCML" only enables the CALL, but it does nothing
to help with this problem (impact of changes on Java code) ...no?
Or, am I missing something here?
Thanks,

My goal is to be able to generate the PCML at runtime so I don't have
to worry about updating the PCML in the java application any time I
update the called program.
FWIW: My plan is to generate the PCML when the Java application starts
up, so users don't have to incur any performance penalty while the
PCML gets generated & transferred.
