Yes, I am aware of that ... but dealing with external PCML just adds undesired complexity to the compile & build process for my applications.
My goal is to be able to generate the PCML at runtime so I don't have to worry about updating the PCML in the java application any time I update the called program.
Obviously I'll have to account for adding & removing of parameters ... but parameter sizes can be automatically dealt with.
I already have a nifty mechanism for retrieving RFML data from externally described data structures and using that to parse data queue entries sent to & from java & RPG.
I want to create something similar for PCML.
So, you can update your "compile" specifications in your change
management tools so this happens automatically, right? ;-)
Of course ... but then I have to distribute the generated PCML anytime the program gets updated.
I admit it, I'm lazy. I prefer to spend a bit of time automating something in order to save time later.
