Subject: RE: IBM i - Licensing and Entitlement with PTF installation

Can one have hardware maintenance without software maintenance? I seem to
remember them being unbundled at some time.
And there was some confusion as to whether some PTF's were entitled due to
hardware maintenance and some were software.
For example, you call IBM because WRKPRB and/or Service Action Log
indicates a problem with some card. IBM asks you if you have ptf MF12345
on your system. You do not. Is then MF12345 considered a hardware fix or
a software fix?
