I know the printers in question support direct PDF. I can FTP the PDF directly into the printer and/or FTP the PDF into a *USERASCII spooled file. I need the PDF as a spooled file, so I can't FTP directly to the printer. My production system doesn't run FTP, so FTP into a spooled file is out.

PrtStmf.ZIP was perfect. It fixed whatever errors I had in my QSH command.

Thanks

Subject: Re: PDF to *USERASCII

Scott once publish as some example code a utility called PRTSTMF...

However, it simply dumps an IFS file into a *USERASCII spool file.

That's all the QSH tips do too.

Which means that the printer _HAS_ to support direct printing of PDF files.

Many modern printers do. Though there was a post a few weeks ago from somebody who mentioned that their new HP printer supported PDF direct printing only if it had 128MB of RAM installed.

Are you positive that the printer you're trying to print to supports direct printing of PDF files?

Charles
