This is taking passive writing style to an insane level. What I
think you're saying, is that the solutions so far have not allowed
for more than one main record, or that it might pull a record that
was not the correct main record. My answer to that is that the OP
defined the issue as one main record, and that the attributes always
followed the main record. Since there is no key or tie to the main
record, we have to follow the rules as they were stated, and assume
that the first previous main record found will be the correct one.


I was just about to post a correction to that. So this serves that purpose.

I had not gone back to review the OP, instead having looked back to a post showing a query as the "statement to retrieve the attribute record". That had me misconstruing the original message, because that followup message with the query seemed to suggest that there were two main-records for one attribute-record; the replies I recalled would find main-record for any attribute-record, which in hindsight, makes perfect sense for the use of the term "main" :-Q
