Ew! Just... EW!
I can go months without that image and SOMEBODY has to bring it up!
But I've learned over the years just to call it S-Q-L because I worked with SEQUEL (before I really learned S-Q-L).
But after the whorl has shown us what happens to "AS400", the whorl will call it what they want to call it forever and forever, AMEN!

I suppose if they just have to pronounce it as a word they could call it squeal.
The only hang up I have with that is it makes me think of the movie "Deliverance".

<<Some people tend to call SQL into SEQUEL.>>
The original authors, Ken Kelley and Ira Cohen told me they wished they
had
gotten a nickel every time somebody said that. They would have made far
more
money that way.

Just a point of clarification.
SEQUEL is a product.
http://www.helpsystems.com/sequel
I have no knowledge of it and don't care to be informed (or any
alternatives).
SQL stands for Structured Query Language.
Some people tend to call SQL into SEQUEL. I have no idea why. Perhaps by
adding vowels they can verbally say it as a word. Like some people also
call SQL squirrel instead. While "SQuirreL SQL is an open-source Java SQL
Client program for any JDBC compliant database."
So when one says they are executing SEQUEL from RPG it makes me wonder if
they are, or if they are executing SQL.
