I believe that Adobe will just use the printerdriver that is installed on
the windows pc where it is executed.That can either be PCL or PS for this
HP printer.

If Michael wants to test if the pdf stream can directly be printed (which
isn't the case with this HP < 128 Mb) he could just do a simple ftp put of
that pdf file to the IP address of the printer.

Adobe doesn't send the PDF directly to the printer...it sends PCL.

Apples & Oranges.

For whatever reason, HP has decided that you must have 128MB of memory to
do direct printing of PDF on that printer.
