plays, I'm not sure about V7R1)

David,
How about a "watch" process:

We use one of these to detect disabled profiles...

Subject: Low budget solution for hardware monitoring alerts
Folks:
First thing I have to say ... I am *NOT* a hardware guy.
That said ... I'm looking for a low budget solution to monitor our systems
and send alert messages when a message shows indicating a hardware problem.
We have a 5 partition system ... 1 management partition, that owns all the
hardware, with 4 client partitions.
As we work on the client partitions and rarely, if ever, need to log into
the management partition, messages that are sent to the QSYSOPR message
queue will not be noticed immediately.
Can anyone suggest a low budget way of monitoring the QSYSOPR message queue
on the management partition that can send emails if specific messages are
encountered?
Thanks!
david
