Doug,

My solution to this problem is to change the interface to a command and define the C3000 as a varying character string. This way, the first two bytes of the string tell me how long it is and I can extract that without any garbage.

Thanks,

Marvin

I have run into this before also. The way I got around it was to change the order of the parameters. I put the parameter that could padded with spaces as the first parameter, and follow it by the others. The only thing I noticed was that when the last parameter always had its contents filled (i.e. no trailing blanks), this would work, and the first parameter (which could have the trailing blanks) was passed with the trailing blanks.
