Did you upgrade the console to the new Java Client BEFORE the upgrade to 7.3 as it tells you to do?

Check out my Blog on 7.3 things you need to know when upgrading to 7.3. http://blog.itechsol.com/upgrading-to-ibm-i-7-3/ The first few installments are already there, the remaining items will be published 2 a week for the next 3 weeks.

Here is a list of the 7.3 items: http://info.itechsol.com/7-3-upgrade-checklist

Subject: Operations Console error 406 after updating to V7R3

Just followed everything to update to V7R3 on my new power 8 and it just won't log into the console anymore.

It did just fine installing PTFs, IPLing, etc to get ready.

Now it tries to connect. The status stays as "pending authorization". I try to log on and get:

Communication error validating the connection to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx Error code: 406

The panel shows A6005008. And it's also for some reason IPLing to the A side after the IPL to load from a virtual device.

I can manually IPL to the B side and get things working, but everything there reports V7R2 still. While Operations console shows V7R3 and I still can't log into the console with any IDs.

I've searched all over and can't find anything that tells me why I'm getting the 406 error.

I've tried removing the system for ops console. Having it discover it, no dice. Still the same things.
Any ideas? thanks!
