nope not using any plugin.
It's clear that the PC has to have an FDF. I have not seen where and how
you make this FDF.

Are you using the plugin from within excel? I've never used it, but one
of the developers we used to have did, and he had a link to this page in
our internal documentation.

But the basic thing to remember is that the DB2 file has to exist.
The transfer will not create one.

simple upload using data transfer to IBMi.
Option 2 on your list.

There's a few things to consider here:
- Simply transferring an Excel spreadsheet from your PC to somewhere
in the IFS on your IBM i or
- Trying to take data from an Excel spreadsheet and transfer it into
aDB2
file in the /QSYS.LIB file system.consider.
If you are trying to do the latter then there's other things to
1 - Are you willing to use the Excel plug-in to transfer data from
Excel directly into a DB2 file, or
2 - Are you trying to use the Data Transfer from IBM i Access Client
Solutions?
3 - Are you trying to use the deprecated IBM i Client Access for
Windows Data Transfer?
If you're using 3 I won't help you.
But the basic thing to remember is that the DB2 file has to exist.
The transfer will not create one.
