Glad I could help...I've played around with it. It's cool but didn't help
much in my case..

Was thinking of it as a super powered LIKE...but as Nick @ IBM gave me the
following tip...
"A text search index works best when it is used for linguistic matches, for
example matching documents that contain 'mice' when the search is for
'mouse'. It should not (in general) be thought of as an improved LIKE or
regular expression evaluator."

You have to do something...

1) Install
2) Start it
3) Create text indexes
4) Modify queries to use the text index

At a seminar last week, we were told that if we would install Omnifind,
it
would, in general, speed up the system. It was from one of our own
right
here on the list. But I won't mention names, I'll let him come forward
if
he wants.

I had to get out the install CDs (V7R1) to install something else and
decided now was the time if I'm going to do it.

Questions:

Is this right? Just install it, get PTFs, and then stand back? Or
does
one have to "do something?"

Also, when I do the Install Licensed Programs option, I see no Omnifind
listed. Do I need to get it from elsewhere?

Thanks.
