I've used it in a few cases to zip up files.

We have it as part of our backup process that's outlined here:

We also use it to zip up files for clients:


CHGVAR     VAR(&ZIPCMD) VALUE('jar -cfM /tmp/' *TCAT +
             &OUTFILE *TCAT '.zip -C /tmp' *BCAT +
             &OUTFILE *TCAT '.json')
QSH        CMD(&ZIPCMD)
