Not only that, but my small town has at least 2-3 shops that probably has
someone that can configure such a setup. And bigger shops are less than
an hour away.
Try to find someone in your yellow pages that can hook up twinax, or can
bang out some of the 'dedicated' terminals mentioned in a few minutes.
Then your ongoing maintenance simply becomes making sure someone pays the
annual maintence on the virus scanning software and pushes out Windows
updates once a quarter or so. Before you go into a lather about having to
push out Windows updates I must say that I put out IBM i updates once a
quarter. Heck, I can search the 7.2 PTF cover letters for CVE (which is a
good indicator of a security patch) and I get 61 hits. And some of these
address multiple patches like
SI56636 - OpenSSH, OpenSSL, zlib
OpenSSL for i needs to be updated to comply with
security vulnerabilities:
