I know I could do it with an exit point. I was just hoping not to have to
spend that kind of development time.
For example, in FTP you can set their home directory. You can set whether
or not they can do a CD while in FTP. You can set a bunch of options with
Application Administration. You don't have that capability in ODBC
Application Administration. Much more limited. Therefore you're down to:
- Roll your own
- Spentasafe
- customize the security of 600+ schemas and the objects within.

We're going with the "well, we created this lpar primarily for this one
application. Therefore the users on this lpar better have access to the
data." Granted, there's a lot of holes to that argument. There's a
difference between programs and stored procedures updating data and
'UPDATE Employee_Rate_Table set payrate=payrate*1.5 where
employeeid=mine'.
