On non-guested SUSE linux on Power 6 we used these steps to check cache
battery life:
Start a putty session to that machine.
- Run the utility by typing iprconfig
- Select work with disk unit recovery
- Select work with resources containing cache battery packs
- Select the adapter and type 1. Then press enter to display battery
information.
How do I do this on VIOS on Power 8? Or, do even the drives in the CEC
not have cache batteries?
