THAT'S the kind of problems I need, not being to run a command because all
my drives are SSD :-)

Jokes aside, one would have thought that the OS differences for SSDs would
have been better documented..

The STRDSKRGZ command does not consider SSD drives as valid drives for
reorganization. . If there are no other types of drives in the ASP, the
code sees no drives as eligible and posts the CPI1472 RC5.
We will document this situation to better explain why the error is posted
with this return code.

I wonder if there's an IBM internal document that says they 'modified'
STRDSKRGZ to throw CPI1472-RC5 when utilizing hosted disk or some such
thing?
My searching has been in vain.

Perhaps throwing the wrong reason code is less manpower than adding a new
reason code to CPI1472 and translating that into 47+ languages.
I'm not inclined to settle for that reason though...

Thank you.
We did have the CPF0907 "Serious storage condition may exist." as noted by

N1019460.
Caused by the save of a library on another machine to save file, ftp'd
over and restored. Space was brought back down by the clearing of that
save file (and some other general maintenance).

IDK if this fragmentation may have been exacerbated by the addition of
four "140GB" disk drives since the last IPL. At various times. This is a

guest lpar and the disks are storage spaces on the host lpar. As the
"disks" were added it was with "add and balance". Toss in a STRASPBAL or
two.

I may try the STRDSKRGZ mentioned in the technote. I don't recall ever
having ran that command. Sounds almost like defragging a PC hard drive to

me. "Last used date" is blank.
What the hey, it will just affect our development lpar...

Rob,

The directory referenced by the message is "static" and it is only reset
during an IPL. I believe that the following IBM TechNote (#N1019460)
could
be of help:

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=nas8N1019460

That document has a link to TechNote #N1012739 and, NOT surprisingly, the
link is wrong. The correct link is:

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=nas8N1012739

Luis Rodríguez

CPI0999 - Storage directory threshold reached.
"This message will be repeated until an IPL has been performed."

This message will continue even though you've freed up more space than
that specified by in the *STG system values and the ASP threshold in
SST.
