Navigator uses JDBC. The connection can use either SQL naming or System naming. There are differences in how tables, functions, procedures, etc are found under each naming convention. It can be a pain...

gives useful information on how the JDBC properties differ under each conventions:Under "Server Properties" see "libraries".

In Navigator, in Run an SQL Script, you can set SQL or System naming and you can change the library list.

I have been told by many that a SQL Schema = IBMi Library. I am not clear why, when changing the Schema list, the Library list does not get changed, and I have to change that manually, outside of the Schema list.

Is that a bug in iSeries Navigator, or is that the way it is supposed to work?

If it is supposed to work that way, then what is the difference between a Schema and a Library?
