Hi Brad,
You can specify multiple entries for authentication, but the user ID set up
for authentication is a generic one already.
The mail vendor just set up one ID that can log in and once authenticated
you can relay through it.
So, any applications using the relay are already using a different logon
from the email that is the sending email.
Thank you for your help so far. It's appreciated.

Does the ADDSMTPLE with List Type *HOSTAUTH only allow one userid and pwto
use for authentication? i only ask because I dropped the IBM SMTPserver
years ago because it's a big pain in the arse. :) Instead we user ourmatch
MAILTOOL/Plus product which bypasses IBM's SMTP and MSF system.
I ask because if you're using mutiple "from" addresses and it doesn't
the auth information hosts may not send the email.help
You can get a trace using our MAILTOOL and MAILTOOL Plus product that may
help with things. IT also allows the authentication at a a global level,
user level, or individual email level. Also uses SSL or TLS as well as
more than just BASIC or PLAIN authentication.

Is there a way to confirm that the authentication info I put in for the
SMTP connection is being used?
