So a 'cheat' (IBM Please stop reading now.)

Once you get hooked up for even one machine. The simplest way to get another machine connected is to open your next PMR using any machine you already are authorized too. At the top of the problem description very clearly indicate "THis PMR is REALLY FOR:" and then give as much valid information as you can such as name and location machine type, serial number etc.

They will process the pMR and tickle the entitlement folks. The process will already be rolling and they'll make the change to the correct customer number at some point. You'll also gain entitlement.

Going through IBM's process to gain entitlement will take longer than getting IBM i 7.3. (And no that's not a typo....)

Mark, for that to work he has to configure his user as the responsible for
that machine and contract. That doesnt happen that fast, it's faster to
start the call and then for the next time configure everything to open it
via web.
I needed a firefox or something package for AIX IIRC and the site took so
long to update an IBMer sent me a direct link after verifying the client's
entitlement status...

Go to:

and a few lines down is a link for "IBM i Support PMRs" ... click on
that.

You will need your IBM userID and password to sign-on, the same one used
for "Fix Central" etc.

This is related to the CPYSRCF SRCCHGDATE(*FROMMBR) issue I raised in
another thread.

I haven't been on the admin side of the house for over a decade now. Is
there a primer online that describes the PMR process, how to open one, do
I
need an IBM customer ID or just a IBM user ID, etc., etc,?
