7.1 to 7.2 is not a PTF, it's an OS upgrade.

PTF,
and update.

Good plan. Put on necessary PTF's for 7.1 to upgrade to 7.2, put on 7.2, put on applicable 7.2 PTF's.

For details I would follow the steps outlined in:

First point is to always start out with the Memo To Users. And don't assume "they can't really mean that".
Check with your vendors to see if they support 7.2. And if they do is upgrading to a certain version of their software required first.
Notes/Domino has a compatibility chart available.

But once you get into the site mentioned above it does a pretty good job on listing the steps.
