What medium to use to convert from an AS/400 150 to an iSeries 520

I have an AS/400 9401 model 150 that writes tapes SLR5 8gb running V4r4
I need to convert everything to a 9405-520 with a tape drive 6384-001 running v5r3
I was originally told that the 6384 would read SLR5 tapes but would not write them.
The specs of the 6384 tape drive say it will accept:
SLR60
MLR3
QIC5010
SLR100-5GB
SLR60 Enhanced
I tried loading in ans SLR5 tape today and the drive rejects it.
Does anyone have any idea how I can restore everything to this 520?
