Just for clarity, if you think you can use Mimix without Journaling you would be in error. :-)

Seriously though that is HOW Mimix replicates, by sending the journal entries.

Now you may THINK that journaling will use a lot of disk space, and it CAN (WHICH I am OK with because I sell disk space!) but with proper management it doesn't consume much at all. Low single digit percentage of disk space is normal.

Also for PowerHA you may want to set the attribute to rebuild access paths at IPL time. We have found that while this increases IPL times a little (5 minutes maybe on a 2TB system) it REALLY helps reduce the instance of damaged objects. Oh and be sure you are journaling your access paths as well!
