Dealing with size:
I can't think of any tricks. A trick that is somewhat relative is using
Word Pad to edit some stuff versus MS Word because once you save it with
Word it's much larger.
IDK if the different AFP drivers used to create overlays create different
sized overlays.

As far as using externally defined printer files I do not think you will
find them nearly as tricky as display files. Like no dummy record that
you never write kind of stuff. I think with your intelligence you should
have no problem. The biggest thing is to go into it with a positive
attitude, be excited, and embrace the opportunities. With a decent
editor, like Rational, you can have your printer file open and your
program source side by side.
