You know, if you use the most current 'resave' or 'respin' of the
operating system you are upgrading to it will have the latest technology
refresh on it. This saves a bunch of grief when doing an upgrade. You
still should apply a cume and groups.
'Back in the day' I used to hesitate loading a large quantity of PTF's
such as the latest cume and all available groups. Something about
"link/loader full" comes to mind. Nowadays it's the way I do it all the
time. Sure I verify with DSPPTF, WRKPTFGRP, CHKPRDOPT and a few other
things, just in case an extra IPL is needed.
