John,

Can you give me a date when week_iso should return 54?

No, because it never should return 54. Did you read the first
sentence of my post? (I've left the quote intact below in case you
need to refer to it again.)

Fiscal weeks could be 52, 53, or even 54 (once every 28
years - 2000 was one of them). I remember having to
tweak things to deal with that 54 week year.

In my last post, I said I would recommend using the ISO definition, if
for no other reason than specifically to avoid the 54-week year. But
you bring up a good point, which is that sometimes it's not a choice
you can make.

Since I gave Rob a bit of grief for his 365.4 days, I'll be "fair" and
point out the nit here as well: The 54-week year happens *at most*
every 28 years. Across most century boundaries, occurrences are
separated by 40 years instead of 28 (because most century years are
NOT leap years; 2000 was an oddball because it's divisible by 400).
Using the week system which allows 54-week years, a 54-week year
occurs 13 times in every 400-year period.
