RE: Security with supplemental groups

Like any other profile swap, QZDASOINIT takes on the user's authorities at the time the swap occurs. If you were waiting to answer a message once you change the user profile it is quite possible the profile in question never utilized the supplemental profile.

I'm reading the flow chart of the Security Reference Manual to understand and authority failure.
This is a web app call processed by QZDASOINIT. and the joblog shows the profile used (group profile) and that profile was not authorized to fileX.
Finding that the web app changed last night and new features added, they were calling and using files in another part of our system, which is authorized to a different group profile.
So I added the 2nd profile as a supplemental to the first profile.

Still did not work.
As a temp fix, I gave the 1st group profile explicit authority to the files. That works.

Perhaps I don't fully understand supplemental groups, or now after research I wonder if QZDASOINIT does not refresh the authorities till that instance ends? The test after adding supplemental group was definitely same QZDASOINIT job nbr.

Can someone enlighten me?
