Can you give an example of a program that can open the Excel spreadsheet and extract the data? If I can process directly, then I will skip the conversion. We are processing the CSV from the IFS without issues. But the Excel looks like a lot of binary garbage. Is there a JAVA utility that can convert? Which version of Excel does it support?

.csv these days. (Well, it has been for a while, but it's becoming
more and more common.) That is, it's easy to process .xls (as an IFS
stream file) directly on your IBM i.
