Thank you all guys !!!
Aaron, Raul, Brad, Jack, Jim, Paul, Alan, Henrik, Nathan ......
Your inputs are all enlightening.
I sure have my hands full now. (to a greater degree then planed , I must
admit)
Sketching up by broad brush strokes:
1. By GUI I also mean a Browser user interface.
2. Using existing RPG code?
I think yes. If we're to re-invent the wheel why do it on IBM i?
3. Modernizing existing code? Separating logic from display?
sure, if there is an easy way to do it.
4. Bringing in new talent or let our current programmers do it?
this issue will be decided by higher echelons (my boss and his bosses)
5. What tool(s) / framework(s) to use? (is it the 64K$ question or the
1000K$ one?)
since there seems to be a plethora of such, I'd start with those that
conform
to point 2 and support Bidi , support Hebrew and have local support in
Israel
I sure appreciate all your inputs (including future ones)
Gad
Kind regards
Gad
