The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
Gentlemen gentleman that brute force stuff is so last year. :-)
Check out API QTARCTGI. This guy returns a handy dandy list of every
tape in the library and a long list of attributes. They include the
write protect status, if it's a cleaning tape, the LTO number, the slot
number and more.
If you are interested I can send you a CL program that you can compile
and run which will send the list and a bunch of the fields to your
joblog. Of course utilizing it in a program is more useful.
The program combines many of the new CL features including DOFOR, Based
variables, Defined variables and yes Pointers. Warning I'm a hardware
guy. :-)

I tried the web interface. I even downloaded the history csv file they
make available. That didn't seem to help.
I can't think of anything short of loading the tape and attempting a
write.
