One application for Node.js that readily comes to mind is a Web socket
server, so that browsers might simultaneously connect to both an IBM i HTTP
server and a Web socket server.
The distinguishing feature of Web sockets is that servers can push content
to the browser without the browser explicitly requesting it. Web sockets
provide for feeder-reader cases where servers push content to browsers when
events become known on the server.
Say the server monitors temperature changes and subsequently feeds those
events to clients.
