We are not saying that we always use the system console for all remote
work.
The idea of remote desktop into some local desktop bears some merit for
jobs that you want to do remotely that are not system console type of
jobs.
Keep in mind that Larry, Jim and I are "systems" people and much of our
stuff is upgrades, saves and restricted type of items that is often done
at system consoles. Otherwise, why would we be doing remote work off
hours? Most of my other sessions are not anything I am going to slice my
wrists over if I lose my session and have to reconnect.
But I do have a second computer that always stays at my desk that I could
start a remote dameware session on if I so desired.

I have been known to use a hmc connection to another system's console and
telnet to a lpar whose system console was already tied up though...
