Along that line of thinking... don't other database providers suggest
that data never be accessed directly; that we use
/Model/-/View/-/Controller/ (/MVC/) to work with our data? Does that
scenario provide an answer that can be adapted to solve this problem?

issue if possible or allow the "wrong" value while logging and notifying
somebody about it.
