Hopefully my examples helped to portray why, what may seem /easier/ for the code, may be potentially detrimental to the ability of the query to operate efficiently [thus timely]; i.e. likely better to avoid selection on a derivation than to avoid coding [a couple] derivation(s) from a[n effective] literal.
