Can you email the pdf using MMAIL/EMLSTMF2 or does that have issues with it also? If that works maybe look at how that command works behind the scenes.

Subject: RE: Question about MMAIL

Everyone,

Thanks for the ideas. We don't use the utility commands, this is a custom generated email based off records in a physical file set to happen during the midnight batch stream.

This PDF is a stock PDF created by another department in Word, saved as a pdf. I copied it to the IFS to enable the MMAIL program to pick it up. The CCSID of the pdf is 1252. The Job CCSID is 65535. I changed the job to 37 and still get the same error.

Interesting thing, PDF files generated by iNavigator from spool files are stored with CCSID of 37 on the IFS. If I rename one of those files and the CCSID changes to 1252.

Sending the email now, with a job ID of 37 and the PDF id of 37 I now get this error from Acrobat: Acrobat could not open file 'Trial601.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).

PDF files generated by the CPYSPLF command have the CCSID of 65535.

I have tried changing the ContType attribute to application/pdf, changing the BinFlag to Y.
