In releases V6R1M1 and above, Removable Disk Cartridge (RDX) on Removable
Mass Storage (RMS) devices can be used with BRMS.
BRMS restrictions for optical devices apply to RDX, see the
Restrictions/Requirements section on the Optical Wiki page for more
information.

Comparing RDX cartridge prices to LTO3 or LTO4 tapes you won't like. RDX
you'll need purchase a SAS card, SAS cable, and an LTO drive such as the

With Power8 for example there is no longer an internal tape option. So
TS2900. You will be out a pretty large pile of RDX cartridges just to get
the LTO drive! In comparison the RDX drive itself is almost Free!

So for the small shops RDX will be much more economical than LTO.

Personally I think comparing to the times of saving to save files isn't
will often blow the doors off of saving to save files.A decent LTO3 or above tape drive, with enough processor to drive it,
you're using the same disk controller, set of arms, etc to write the dataThis isn't 1970. Disk isn't always faster than tape. Especially when
