Agree with the argument about 'making the case' many don't even try because THEY don't want to be held to their promise to learn something new. Sad.

Disagree though that you can't still use SEU for a quick change. It works just fine so long as what you're changing is simple enough that you don't care that SEU flags it as incorrect syntactically.

There is a distinction to be made, however.

A carpenter will go to the builder and tell him that the air-nailer is a
"must have", and will make the case that it "pays for itself." The
average IBM i developer, however, does not do this with RDi. (Some do,
but they are the minority.)

Another distinction... the carpenter is able to continue to use both
tools, the regular hammer and the air-nailer, and use whichever is
easier for the task at hand. Nobody is trying to 'deprecate' the hammer.
