Everybody's happy. The RAID is still active, but the battery is failed. I'll go get a new one.

Probably not recommended practice but.............

I had a cache battery go out that was less than a year old or so it seemed.

Brought down the system, removed battery for 2 minutes, put it back in and it's running fine.

Not totally convinced these batteries need replacement every year :-)

I got the dreaded critical system hardware problem notification. I'm
pretty sure this is a battery pack. Before I knock the machine down and
head over to Batteries Plus, if anyone can confirm that'd be great.

It DOES say battery cache as one of the probable causes, I just wanted
to double check.
