I started this in another thread in another forum, but it belongs here and
deserves a thread of it's own.
There's something really flaky going on with SNDPTFORD.
Earlier today I did a SNDPTFORD SF99711 (the all groups one) and it seemed
to run normally, though I thought I should have gotten more PTFs.
There has been some confusion as to whether that PTF is truly up to date,
so I though what the heck, I'll order each group individually and see if I
get anything additional.
So I submitted another job that orders each group individually. This job
starts with the hiper group and it failed. So I did a SNDPTFORD PTFID
SF98710 and it worked, though it was horrendously slow.
So then I tried SNDPTFORD *HIPERGRP interactive from a command line. There
were 199339 bytes to download and it stayed at 64% for over 5 minutes.
Speed went down to 1376bps. Took 18 minutes and downloaded no PTFs.
Everything was either "already applied" or "already available on the
system".
So then I tried SNDPTFORD *DB2GRP interactive from a command line. Said
there were 172413 bytes but I never got anything. I heard the /MODEM/
screaming in the computer room. We haven't done PTFs via modem in ages.
It isn't even connected to a wall jack anymore.
Ran an errand, came back and did the SNDPTFORD PTFID SF98710 again and it
worked again. So I got brave and tried the SNDPTFORD *DB2GRP once more.
This time it worked, though it took xx minutes and was as slow as
2333bps.
The other thing is I got an email from IBM this morning regarding PTFs
with

which I think has come up here before regarding not being able to get
certain PTFs if you don't have hardware service with IBM (which is another
problem that will have to be addressed).
Do you suppose that thousands of customers got this email and went into
panic mode, ordering PTFs? Overwhelming the system right now?
