You mentioned a pgm forgets/aborts. Normally the job then ends and the qtemp files are gone.

If however the job survives and moves on to the next step, that next step EXPECTS the QTEMP filtered item master file.

There's a HUGE difference between other programs and other jobs.

From a command line:

RUNSQL SQL('create table qtemp/iim as (select * from erplxf/iim where

CALL MYRPTPGM /* which looks ok since it reported of the subset of the
item master in qtemp */

CALL CSTROLLUP /* which dies because many items are missing from
itemmaster in qtemp */
