we didn't have DB2 Multisystems ... I don't think, it''s adding scalability.
Could you clarify that? I don't have DB2 Multi-System either, but the documentation suggest's that it's all about performance and horizontal scalability; dividing DBMS workloads across multiple systems and running parallel processing.
I began my research and experimentation on handling big data by reading about and analyzing the architecture of MemSQL & VoltDB which are specifically designed for "big data", but implement designs that have been available under IBM i for decades, or in the case of parallel processing across multiple systems they have a lot of overlap with DB2 Multi-System.
