So Windows 8 was out in beta, like, how long?
Now Windows 8 was GA, like, how long?
Are the number of distributions of Windows 8 greater than or equal to the
number of distributions of IBM i 7.1?
If Windows 8 is greater should then vendors who sell products to IBM i not
be concerned until 7.1 achieves a greater saturation?

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Granted there are holes in the newer products, but they are being filled
over time. In any case nothings happening to the thick client until at
least the next version comes out anyway.

As to Win8, I think the changes are quite large since the user
interface changed so much, and it's going to take some time to get
through the QA cycle with it. It's still such a small market that I
would not spend any money on it yet.

There's a few things I like about IBM i Access for Windows vs the Java

- iNav. I know the big push is for the web version but it's still
lacking
a lot. Like how to start the http admin client.:-) Support for
multiple servers in Management Central (or is that there?).
- Integration into Windows. I log into Windows and use my Windows
credentials for 5250. A real show stopper for a SSO/EIM shop with no
local password management for the IBM i account.
