The LUG requirements are high and membership is capped at around 100 but that's on purpose, in theory larger systems are doing more things. In my previous life my company was in the LUG and I will tell you if you have the opportunity to join you should take it as fast as you can. It's worth every penny, the LUG is a very influential group and they have IBM's ear.

I don't know about exclusive. Member companies (around 100, the site says) do pay dues - $3000 a year these days. This isn't going to be feasible for smaller companies.

There is another advisory through COMMON, and they sometimes have openings, too. The focus of the CAAC - COMMON America Advisory Council is on the needs and interests of small and medium size businesses. There is a time commitment that one's employer has to be OK with, including a couple face-to-face meetings annually.

IBM really do listen to both of these groups, as well as the ISV Advisory Council and CEAC, the European one.

So if a person is interested, they can go to the volunteer page at the COMMON web site for more information.

Regards
Vern

Worst part? I read those requirements as having at least TWO machines with 100,000CPW EACH! or at least that's how i read it.
Must be a very exclusive group...

Hmm, guess we better upgrade if we want to hit this level:

Dues are a bit pricey compared to COMMON, but then there's no expo or
anything.
