Hi Jack

I don't know that IASPs have anything to do with NWSSTG. AN IASP is just an ASP - a pool of disk units.

The 6.1 IASP Redbook has a section on saving and restoring Linux NWSSTG in an IASP - I took a quick look, and there appear to be some things to be aware of. E.g., some information related to the NWSSTG is held in the system ASP, not the IASP.

Best thing is read the 6.1 Redbook (it's the latest RB, I believe), especially for these "interesting" details.

Or go in InfoCenter to Systems Management/Disk Management/Disk Pools and read away! The RB has pictures, InfoCenter doesn't.

ok, I was thinking that you could have an IASP with or without a NWSSTG.

Jack,

From an application perspective there is no difference. The
hardware/software considerations get somewhat more intense for
switchable/clustering environments.

How much do the IASP rules change whether the setup is for non-switchable
