FWiW: If the intent is to look _only_ for open files, then the List Open Files (QDMLOPNF) API should effect a list similar to the WRKJOB OPTION(*OPNF), providing an alternate and more direct approach. Obviously that approach would not be helpful, if the issue is locks vs simply opens.
