We have a directory on the IFS (/XFER) that has files that some users need to access.

We set up a group profile (XFERIFS) so certain users could have it as a supplemental group.

Then we granted *RX access to the group profile (XFERIFS) for that directory and all the sub-folders in that directory.

Users in group XFERIFS who map a drive to the directory can see the files in the directory but they do not have permission to view the file.

Using WRKLNK we added *RWX rights to the files for the group profile.

Data --Object Authorities--
User Authority Exist Mgt Alter Ref

*PUBLIC *NONE X X X
XB104 *RWX X X X X
XFERIFS *RWX X X X X

Using QP2term we navigated to the directory and and did an ls -al.

The file permissions are:

-rwx------ 1 xb104 0 5208 Jun 03 17:08 BR2013

Why wouldn't this reflect the changes that we made with WRKLNK?

Jerry
