bcc'ing you because images are stripped.
The pure java version does not have an Operations Console option. Well,
it does, but if you click on it you will have a browser open to whatever
the name of http://youribmi:2001 is at that time. Basically it's trying
to use the web: ?System Director for i?. Which, if you have recent PTFs
on for 7.1, IBM is pushing over iNav.

I occasionally do admin-type tasks from home (cume's on Saturday morning
w/coffee, etc.) on a laptop running i Access For Windows, on Windows 7 Pro
(64 bit). Works great.
However, I want to upgrade the laptop to Windows 8. I know officially that
i
Access for Windows (5761-XE1) is not supported, but I tested it on a
Windows
8 laptop and it does work, mostly. The Operations Console graphical
control
panel would not work (as documented elsewhere, IIRC), but all other
functions worked.
In May, IBM announced enhancements to i Access Client Solutions (5733-XJ1)
that included 'hover text for SRC's in virtual control panel' and got me
wondering if this might be an option.
Has anyone tried this pure Java version on a Win8 machine, with the
Operations Console functions?
