The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
Hmmm..not really.............. :-)
Just pointing out reality of SaaS based apps.
In our case we're doing all of our SaaS hosting with our Windows based products.
Even some of our i customers have migrated to Windows because they are going through platform switches internally.
Bummer, but reality. And we still continue to develop for i. It's just not our only platform as it is for many i vendors.
As Nathan pointed out, the true SaaS customers don't need to care about platform.
Also in terms of logistics we can simply spin up inexpensive Dell servers with appropriate VM resources and off we go.
If you can do SaaS successfully and affordably on i, go for it i-say :-)

Richard,
I believe what Nathan was trying to point out that most users don't need to
know or care what their software is running on or what it's written in, as
long as it runs, and runs well, and is scale-able.
You seem to be trying to take that in the opposite direction. :)
Users what productivity and shouldn't care if it's written in RPG or Ruby
on Rails.
